SU NSW Safe Ministry Fundamentals ensures that all aspects of our ministries are safe for all involved, our Participants, Volunteers, Staff and Board.
Every Volunteer is required to provide :-
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Current Board Approved Safe Ministry Training
- Provide Pastoral and Personal referee’s for Reference Checks
- Agree and adhere to our Aims, Beliefs and Working Principles
- Agree and adhere to our Code of Conduct
Every Ministry must complete our thorough Safety & Risk Management Procedure of Ready Set Go
Safe Ministry Training
Safe Ministry Training for SU NSW Volunteers
It is a requirement that those volunteering as a team member on an SU NSW activity have undertaken appropriate Safe Ministry Training.
SU NSW recognises denominational Safe Ministry Training, provided a certificate of competency, or similar, is provided upon the successful completion of the training.
If you need to complete your training, we approve the following courses:
- Anglican Diocese of Sydney – Safe Ministry Training – Safe Ministry Essentials and/or Refresher
- Anglican Diocese of Armidale – Safe Ministry Training – Safe Ministry Essentials and/or Refresher
- Anglican Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn – Safe Ministry Training – Safe Ministry Essentials and/or Refresher
- Australian Christian Churches – Creating Safer Communities
- Baptist Church – Creating Safe Spaces must complete both online and face to face
- Childsafe – Keeping Children and Young People Safe – Module 1 National Principles
- National Council of Churches in Australia – Formally STCA (Safe Church Program) – Safe Church Program
- Non-denominational (preferred by SUNSW insurer – ANSVAR) – Safe Ministry Check (Level 2 for Volunteers and Level 3 for Directors) (If your church is registered with SMC, ask your Safe Ministry Coordinator for access)
- Office of Children’s Guardian – Child Safe eLearning – Keeping children safe in organisations (for all sectors) – Modules 1-9
- Presbyterian Church – Breaking the Silence (BTS), Jericho Road – Foundation Training
- Salvation Army – Safe Guarding Principles Training
- Seventh Day Adventist – Adsafe Safer Churches Awareness Training
- Uniting Church for NSW & ACT – Safe Church Training
