Leadership Conference is back for 2024!
Leadership Conference is an epic, five-day conference operated by Scripture Union NSW. It’s programmed to deliver a range of leadership training skills for established as well as emerging high school student leaders in grades 9-12. It’s a time for student leaders to get creative or be challenged in how they can lead in their local school, church or community.
Leadership Conference nourishes, encourages and equips student leaders further in their leadership training journey that not only develops their existing skills but also endeavours to activate new possibilities and ideas on how to lead in the name of Jesus!
It's a big week of fun, fellowship, and full-on training in theology, evangelism, discipleship and leadership coaching!!
Leadership Conference is Christian in identity and is inter-denominational. We welcome students from across all cultural and church backgrounds.

How many leaders are on each camp?
SU NSW Camps are committed to caring for your child, with a ratio of 1 leader for every 5 campers and in most camps, this ratio is even lower. Each volunteer has a current Working With Children Check and training in Safe Ministry.
Is financial assistance available?
Financial assistance may be available for those in hardship!

Leadership Conference – Do you cater for special dietary requirements?
Yes, please provide a comprehensive list of dietary requirements when registering your child onto camp. We are able to cater for most children with special dietary requirements, such as vegetarian, gluten-free and lactose intolerance. In certain circumstances, parents may be required to provide special food for their child to bring to camp.
Leadership Conference – How are medical incidents dealt with on camp?
All SU NSW Camps have Senior First Aid qualified leaders who will deliver first-response treatment in the event of an injury or illness. A decision is then made about whether further medical attention is needed and if the camper needs to visit a medical centre or hospital. The Director will contact the parent or guardian as soon as possible if outside medical attention is required for your child and if there are any major incidents that occur involving your child.
Leadership Conference – How do I get to and from the conference?
This is a responsibility of the parent/guardian, please contact the director if assistance is required. For further information please contact the Camp Director.
Leadership Conference – I don't know anyone who is coming?
Most students who attend start off like this. But with all the programmed activities or workshops and discussion groups alike you will feel connected in no time, making like- minded friends!

Leadership Conference – What do I need to take on camp?
Prior to camp, you will receive a ‘camp information pack’ by email with all the details of what you will need to bring to camp. Drop off and pick up times and location of the camp will also be included.
Leadership Conference – What does an average day look like?
Most days look the same starting with solo time with God, then onto the main session which includes music, book reviews and the bible talk; followed with discussion groups. After lunch its workshop time to add more practical and godly skills to your leadership tool box and free time to hang with your new friends!! The evenings are school prayer and mystery fun events.
Leadership Conference – What if I'm scared to stand up in public?
Not all leaders are preachers. Comforting someone can be leadership of equal value. Leadership Conference will teach you about many different ways you can lead.
Leadership Conference – Who will be coming?
Leadership Conference is available to any NSW school student who is in grade 9-12 who is keen to not only grow in their leadership ability but relationship with God. The adult team leaders who are attending conference have had experience in either participating in a lunchtime group or currently leading a group.

What does my child need to take on camp?

Who looks after the campers?
A team of energetic, committed, Christian Leaders look after the campers throughout camp. All leaders are reference-checked, trained in child protection procedures and have completed government child protection requirements. In addition to adult leaders, a number of Camps involve Junior Leaders who will get right alongside your child throughout the week.
Will it be safe?
SU NSW Camps and their volunteers hold a strong commitment to the well-being of everyone who participates in our camps. We operate under Scripture Union guidelines and strive to stay in line with and even ahead of the standards that are in place for the camping industry.
