At cricket camp we have a whole team of leaders ready to train you and equip you for playing your best on the cricket pitch. With a range of experience and talent, we are keen to help you improve your game. Whether you are just starting out or have been playing for years, there is plenty to learn on camp. We do fielding drills, net sessions, indoor cricket and competitive 20/20 matches. Alongside the cricket we play laser skirmish, indoor games and many other fun activities. We also spend time each day hearing from God's word.

My name is Maria Buster. I am married to Steve we have 5 sons. Four of whom are married. My work involves caring for Boarders in an Anglican School. We are currently based in Tamworth but our family and Cricket Camp originated in Bourke. Resulting from a God given vision combining faith and love for Jesus with a passion for Cricket. Our family have naturally grown up with Cricket Camp! Cricket Camp,as well as the other SU sporting camps continue to be a great blessing to our family and hundreds of others.

Yes, just tell them to register online or contact the Camp Director for any further information.
Part of the camper registration process is to inform us of any medical conditions or requirements your child might have that could impact their time at camp. Our First Aid officers are equipped to administer medication as stipulated by you at registration. If the camp has any questions regarding the medical requirements they will contact you prior to the camp beginning.
A bus is available from Tamworth to Dubbo, with pick ups available along the route.  This is an additional cost, please contact Camp Director Maria Buster for further information.  For those in other areas / regions this is a responsibility of the parent / guardian, please contact the Camp Director for further information.
No. The camp supplies all necessary equipment, however, we recommend that you bring your own box (protector). You are welcomed to bring your own gear (i.e. bats, pads, gloves) if you prefer.
Yes. We have had a variety of skill levels each year, and each and every camper has been challenged and improved their skills. In fact, many players comment on how the camp prepares them well for the beginning of the representative season.
No. There are different levels for cricketers of all stages of playing ability.
All camp activities are covered in the registration fee. As well as playing cricket, campers are involved in other activities such as a night at Dubbo Sports World, indoor sports, round-robin games, swimming (weather permitting) and wide/narrow games.
Yes, please provide a comprehensive list of dietary requirements when registering your child onto camp. We are able to cater for most children with special dietary requirements, such as vegetarian, gluten-free and lactose intolerance. In certain circumstances, parents may be required to provide special food for their child to bring to camp.
All SUNSW Camps have Senior First Aid qualified leaders who will deliver first-response treatment in the event of an injury or illness. A decision is then made about whether further medical attention is needed and if the camper needs to visit a medical centre or hospital. Scripture Union NSW or the Camp Director will contact the emergency contact parent as soon as possible if outside medical attention is required and if there are any major incidents that occur.
SU NSW Camps are committed to caring for your child, with a ratio of 1 leader for every 5 campers and in most camps, this ratio is even lower. Each volunteer has a current Working With Children Check and training in Child Protection.
Prior to camp, you will receive a ‘camp information pack’ by email with all the details of what your child will need to bring to camp. Drop off and pick up times and location of the camp will also be included.
Each day of camp features a short, age-appropriate Bible presentation and small group time for campers to talk about issues in greater depth and ask questions about God, life and everything.
A team of energetic, committed, Christian Leaders look after the campers throughout camp. All leaders are reference-checked, trained in child protection procedures and have completed government child protection requirements. In addition to adult leaders, a number of Camps involve Junior Leaders who will get right alongside your child throughout the week.
SU NSW Camps and their volunteers hold a strong commitment to the well-being of everyone who participates in our camps. We operate under Scripture Union guidelines and strive to stay in line with and even ahead of the standards that are in place for the camping industry.
