Since it started way back in 1957, Camp Conqueror has always been about challenge. Conqueror finds its home in the Budawang Ranges, where we spend four days hiking through some of the South Coast’s most rugged and beautiful terrain. Even more important than the hike is the time we spend being challenged by who God is, what He has done and what that means for us today. Add to this a trip to the beach, great fun and loads of adventure, and you’ve got yourself a week that can’t be missed

Camp Conqueror - How do I get to camp?
After you have registered for camp, the Directors will contact you to confirm your travel arrangements to and from camp, and to assist you if possible.
Camp Conqueror - What is the Christian component of the Camp?
Campers are encouraged to think through the awesome news about Jesus throughout each day, whether in structured Bible Studies, campfire conversations or chatting as we hike. Campers are encouraged to ask questions and decide for themselves how they will respond to Jesus the King.
Camp Conqueror - What type of accomodation?
At the Base Camp, we sleep under the large marquee which is divided into males and females. Things are a little more basic on the hike - but the views are pretty great! Campers shelter under tarps or overhang formations that are common throughout the Budawangs.
Camp Conqueror - who looks after the campers?
The Camp Conqueror leaders are a team of energetic and committed Christians who are also experienced hikers, having each completed multiple hikes through the Budawang Ranges. All the leaders are reference checked, trained in Child Protection and have completed government Working With Children requirements. They love the outdoors, they love the campers and they love sharing the Gospel with others.
Can I invite my friends?
Yes, just tell them to register online or contact the Camp Director for any further information.
Can you take care of my child’s special medical requirements?
Part of the camper registration process is to inform us of any medical conditions or requirements your child might have that could impact their time at camp. Our First Aid officers are equipped to administer medication as stipulated by you at registration. If the camp has any questions regarding the medical requirements they will contact you prior to the camp beginning.
Do you cater for children with special dietary requirements?
Yes, please provide a comprehensive list of dietary requirements when registering your child onto camp. We are able to cater for most children with special dietary requirements, such as vegetarian, gluten-free and lactose intolerance. In certain circumstances, parents may be required to provide special food for their child to bring to camp.
How are medical incidents dealt with on camp?
All SUNSW Camps have Senior First Aid qualified leaders who will deliver first-response treatment in the event of an injury or illness. A decision is then made about whether further medical attention is needed and if the camper needs to visit a medical centre or hospital. Scripture Union NSW or the Camp Director will contact the emergency contact parent as soon as possible if outside medical attention is required and if there are any major incidents that occur.
How many leaders are on each camp?
SU NSW Camps are committed to caring for your child, with a ratio of 1 leader for every 5 campers and in most camps, this ratio is even lower. Each volunteer has a current Working With Children Check and training in Child Protection.
What does my child need to take on camp?
Prior to camp, you will receive a ‘camp information pack’ by email with all the details of what your child will need to bring to camp. Drop off and pick up times and location of the camp will also be included.
Who looks after the campers?
A team of energetic, committed, Christian Leaders look after the campers throughout camp. All leaders are reference-checked, trained in child protection procedures and have completed government child protection requirements. In addition to adult leaders, a number of Camps involve Junior Leaders who will get right alongside your child throughout the week.
Will it be safe?
SU NSW Camps and their volunteers hold a strong commitment to the well-being of everyone who participates in our camps. We operate under Scripture Union guidelines and strive to stay in line with and even ahead of the standards that are in place for the camping industry.
