What We Do
Working with the churches, Scripture Union aims to:
a) make God’s Good News known to children, young people and families, and
b) encourage people of all ages to meet God daily through the Bible and prayer,
so that they may come to personal faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, grow in Christian maturity and become both committed church members and servants of a world in need.
Scripture Union NSW strives to do this through:
In partnership with Churches, we accept and proclaim the historic truths of the Christian faith. Leadership development: We believe that people of all ages can be developed as disciples of Jesus to lead others to him.
1. Evangelism
We believe that God’s good news of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is to be made known to all people, making them disciples, and teaching them to obey him.
2. Bible and Prayer Engagement
We believe that meeting God daily through the Bible and prayer is the best way to grow as followers of Jesus Christ.
3. Leadership Development
We believe that people of all ages can be developed as disciples of Jesus to lead others to him.
4. Empowering volunteers
We believe that any follower of Jesus is capable of being empowered to use their gifts for service in the world.
5. Serving the local church
We believe in working with (serving/supporting/partnering/resourcing) the local church so that people of all ages can become both committed church members and servants of a world in need.
