Join us as we enjoy lots of yummy food while we make friendship bracelets, create polymer clay jewellery, have fun tote bag decorating and much more. Create & Connect Day Camp - Who is it for?
Create & Connect Day Camp is for girls in year 5 to 9. There will be a variety of crafts and activities to cater for the range of abilities in this age group. Leaders can support the younger students. We look forward to building a relationship with the attendees and involving them in future craft days and weekend camps.
How are medical incidents dealt with on camp?
All SUNSW Camps have Senior First Aid qualified leaders who will deliver first-response treatment in the event of an injury or illness. A decision is then made about whether further medical attention is needed and if the camper needs to visit a medical centre or hospital. Scripture Union NSW or the Camp Director will contact the emergency contact parent as soon as possible if outside medical attention is required and if there are any major incidents that occur.
What does my child need to bring for a Create & Connect Day Camp?
Kids won’t need to bring anything, however, we suggest wearing old clothes as we will be painting and they may get messy.
What is the Christian component of a Create & Connect Day Camp?
In between each of the craft activities, the leaders will be sharing a short, age-appropriate Bible presentation about a Bible story. There will also be small group time for kids to talk about what this story means to them.
What’s a DAY Camp?
Rather than have kids sleep over for a weekend, our team has chosen to run day-only experiences for kids. We plan to run a Craft Day Camp once a term and therefore hope to build relationships with the kids and their families over the year. The day will still include lots of fun crafts, games and food!
Who looks after the participants?
A team of energetic, craft-enthusiasts who are committed Christian leaders will look after the kids through the day. All leaders are reference-checked, trained in child protection procedures and have completed government child protection requirements.
